Purple color as a sign of royalty
Attentive royal watchers have already noticed that Her Majesty is a big fan of purple color in her wardrobe. But few people know that the Queen prefers this particular color for a reason:

- From the times of Queen Elizabeth I, the purple color was considered as a signature mark of aristocrats.
- The Queen even banned anyone except for members of the royal family from wearing purple.
- Purple clothes reportedly highlight an elite status and good wealth.
- According to reports, it took about 9,000 mollusks to create one gram of Tyrian purple. So it was understandable that commoners couldn’t afford purple clothes a century ago.
Beige is taboo
As for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s least favorite color, it appears to be beige. There were pretty few times when fans could spot the Queen in a monochrome beige outfit.
The Queen’s assistant Angela Kelly commented on Her Majesty’s sense of style:
The Queen loves clothes and is a real expert on fabrics.
