The Kenyatta National Hospital is one of the oldest and well-known hospitals in Kenya. It’s famous for its highly professional doctors and staff. What’s more, it’s the largest one in the country.

But even such renowned institutions make mistakes that could cost lives. The thing is that recently, the surgeons of the hospital conducted a brain surgery on a wrong patient. The doctors had to do a surgery for a blood clot on the brain, but hours into the operation, they spotted no clot. While another patient simply had to have a non-invasive treatment for swelling.

Mary Wahome is a staff member, a nurse, who seems to be responsible for the mess. As she was the one who sent the wrong patient for the brain surgery. She admits her mistake and explains everything by a huge workload.
