8 Personal Things Not To Keep In The Bathroom

Often there are so many tubes and jars around the sink or in the medicine cabinet in our bathroom that it’s hard to find a spot for our toothbrush. However, it turns out that not all of those items should be kept in the bathroom.

We’ve put together a list of items that would be better kept in a different room to the bathroom.

1. Medication

Changes in temperature and high humidity can have a negative effect on medications, and they can lose their beneficial properties. It can also shorten their shelf life. So to safeguard your health, store medication in a cool, dry place. A nightstand or cabinet will work nicely.

2. Cosmetics

The same is true for cosmetics. Of course, it’s incredibly convenient when your favorite blushes and lipsticks are within reach, but they can quickly go bad in a bathroom. So put them in a cosmetic bag and keep them in another room.

3. Makeup brushes

You should treat your makeup brushes the same way you treat your makeup. If they are not cleaned regularly, they can accumulate a huge number of microbes and bacteria; these multiply even faster in humid conditions so that when we use them next time, they can actually harm our skin.

4. Razors

Thanks to high humidity in the bathroom, razor blades can oxidize and rust. Extra razors can be damaged before you even start to use them. So if razors are kept in the bathroom, be sure they are in sealed packages or put them in a cabinet immediately after use.

5. Electronic devices

Do you love listening to music and singing when you’re in the shower? Telephones, hair dryers, and other electronic devices are not safe in a humid environment. However, electric toothbrushes or waterproof devices are fine.

6. Jewelry

Do you take off your rings or necklace before you take a shower and put them on the sink or vanity? Because of moisture, costume jewelry can oxidize and rust, and silver can tarnish. Put your jewelry in a box in another room.

7. Perfume

Because of changes in temperature, your favorite perfumes can lose both their strength and their familiar aroma. Keep them in a place where both temperature and humidity are stable.

8. Towels

After they are used, towels are damp. And if they are left in the bathroom, they become an excellent place for bacteria to breed. Once you have dried off after a shower, hang the towel in a different room to dry, and then put it away on a shelf or in a closet.

Follow these tips if you don’t want to have to throw away your favorite perfume or harm your health.
