Last year, on August 18, 2017, the world lost another talented person – Sir Bruce Forsyth. Following a lengthy illness and difficult recovery, the former Strictly Come Dancing host passed away at 89, leaving many of his fans devastated.

Paying a tribute and presenting an award.

Forsyth’s widow (who is almost 30 years his junior) arrived on the stage at the NTAs to present Ant and Dec, English comedy duo, with a special award named in honor of her late husband.

After watching a heartfelt montage of Bruce’s best moments, she confessed that she wished she wouldn’t have to stand there and present the gong, but also added:

I am so proud and honored that this special award is named after my darling Bruce.

Wilnelia terribly misses her beloved, and so do his fans, admirers, and show business coworkers. Forsyth was an incredible entertainer who had an amazing chemistry with the audience and delighted thousands of people with his shows.  As BBC director, Tony Hall, says:

His warmth and his wit were legendary. I’ve never seen anyone quite like him when it comes to performing in front of a crowd.

Bruce and Wilnelia’s story

Before tying the knot with Merced, the comedian was married twice and had five children. But Forsyth genuinely believed that meeting his third wife was the best thing that had ever happened to him.

They got to know each other during Miss World competition, where both were judges. In 1980, during a trip to the Lake District, the star finally popped the question and the pair got married in 1983. Despite being married before, their relationship might be the most romantic one, with all the trips, phone calls, and going there and here.

The two have been together for 34 years, and the former Miss World still doesn’t believe he is gone. Despite their age gap, they remained devoted to each other throughout all these years, which is a milestone not everyone can reach.
