'House Of Cards' And 'The Wire' Star, Reg E. Cathey, Lost His Battle With Cancer At 59

Fantastic Four and House of Cards star, Reginald Eurias Cathey, better known as Reg E. Cathey, has passed away at the age of 59.

R.I.P, Reg E. Cathey

A popular American stage and television actor, incredibly talented Reg E. Cathey, lost his battle with lung cancer. The star has sadly passed away on February 9, 2018, at the age of 59.

Cathey became worldwide famous after his great role in House of Cards, which made him won the Emmy award for outstanding guest actor in a drama series in 2015.

Reg’s other famous roles were in the movies The Wire, Outcast, A Doctor’s Story, Fantastic Four.

The Wire’s producer, David Simon, commented on the tragic loss:

Not only a fine, masterful actor – but simply one of the most delightful human beings with whom I ever shared some long days on set.

One of Reg’s last works was in 2017 in the biography film The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, where he starred along with Oprah Winfrey.

Among those who paid tribute to the late star were such celebrity people as Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Gibson, and Chris Rock. Numerous fans also went on social media to express their condolences to the eminent actor.

Reg E. Cathey was no doubt one of a kind. His incredible talent, life energy, and an enormous sense of humor combined with self-irony made him a true star and a perfect example to follow for all young actors, who only begin their path to glory.

Rest in peace, dear Reginald. The world will never forget you.
